Ulysse Nardin and The Hour Glass Showcase the Freak Collection in Malaysia

Guests embarked on a thrilling tale of mystery and exploration in a world full of exotic to celebrate all things shark right in the city centre of Kuala Lumpur.

Surrounded by a sea of light and sound, Ulysse Nardin celebrated the Freak Collection with a surprise-filled party at St Regis Kuala Lumpur. Stealing the limelight of the evening was the King of Ocean, swimming against the tide through the city as the brand pays homage to more than 170 years of marine heritage.

An essential element of the Freak collection, the shark represents an off-kilter take on the marine theme. This dedication to combining the principles of freedom and innovation that have always guided the brand’s creative dynamic was the theme of Ulysse Nardin’s night of celebration.

The surprise-filled evening was brought to life as the venue was transformed into an ocean faring world full of exotic wonders, joined by the mysterious, instinctive, dynamic and self-assured sharks from the depths of the ocean.

With a spectrum of entertainment, inspired by the power and precision of the ocean, Kuala Lumpur’s crème-de-la-crème and watch connoisseurs came together and entered the Freak universe. Together, they explored the mysterious world of the Freak Collection, introduced for the very first time in Malaysia during the evening.

During this memorable evening, over 400 guests discovered Ulysse Nardin’s Freak collection - from the FREAK VISION which was launched at SIHH 2018 to the four new FREAK OUT timepieces – presented in showcases inspired by shark cages, levitating in the centre of the venue. On stage, the entertainment was equally remarkable with jaw-dropping performances by contortionist dance troupe, the ADEM Dance Crew.

Also present at the evening were Mr. Patrick Pruniaux, the CEO of Ulysse Nardin and Mr. Michael Tay, the Group Managing Director of The Hour Glass. “South East Asia is the land of watch connoisseurs and also Ulysse Nardin lovers. It’s a great pleasure to see so many Freak owners today”, said Mr. Patrick Pruniaux, the CEO of Ulysse Nardin. “With a long history of more than 170 years, the stunning Freak Collection which we have presented today epitomizes what Ulysse Nardin stands for – a sense of freedom and innovation that combines daring ingenuity with undeniable style. The Freak is an iconic collection across the watch industry and it embodies the daring freedom of a shark, not just in the sea, but in the city. I sincerely hope you will enjoy exploring the Freak Collection”, he added.

As the evening continued, guests were seen enjoying themselves with the sumptuous spread of mysterious coastal inspired canapes and cocktails, with DJ Bate taking over the decks till late night, spinning the latest tunes to the crowd of beautifully dressed ladies and men.
